What does BirdSong YouTube Analytics offer the social media practitioner over and above YouTube’s own analytics?

BirdSong YouTube Analytics allows you to rank all video uploads by the total number of views, total amount of likes/dislikes and comments for any public channel so that you can carry out your own data analysis. This means you can research the YouTube statistics for clients, competitors and other public accounts that you’re interested in.

YouTube does provide in-depth analytics for channel owners but access to this is restricted to those with the login/password to the account.

If you want to look at other channels, YouTube does provide some top-line figures. For example, you can view how many subscribers each channel has and for each video uploaded, you can see the number of views it has achieved and how many subscriptions it has driven. You can also see the number of likes, dislikes, shares, and comments it has reached. However, the YouTube platform does not currently let you interrogate this information in any more detail or to download export it for your own offline analysis.
